First Meeting Minutes by xiiaomiao Tuesday, March 8, 2011 @ 8:25 PM First Meeting Date: 23th February 2011 Time: 2.00pm to 3.30pm Venue: Tanglin School Agenda:  Gain insights about the different types of project we can work on Know more information about the school and its students Introduction Personal strengths Personal motivation for the project Any experience with disabled people? Foundations [Basic understanding that is required] Need to understand that “Reality is shaped by perceptions” The project should allow us to change our current POV towards those that require support. Requirements Reflection is a key component in this project Every third SL meeting has a reflection session Request permission to use our project as data for Ms Jay’s own master’s project Feature the changes in our perception over time Learning Outcomes Challenges the students faced To better expose ourselves to the other side of society Obtain better self-awareness about disability Other info: Times we could work with: Wed/Thurs/Fri 2-5pm [Their CCA timing] Most likely assigned 5 to 8 people School timing: 7.30am to 12.30pm [Morning shift] 12pm to 5pm [Afternoon shift] Sharing of personal ideas: [Important points] Hybrid projects very likely Translation is a ‘side’, yet in high demand Suitable students will be allocated according to our project proposal. Try to put ourselves in the shoes of them If we are doing travelling, those with high support needs will be allocated, since only those will still require assistance in travelling alone at the age of 16.
